Best Care Training Institute is now accepting applications to its LPN Program (Morning and Evening Sessions) for the calendar year 2008-2010. Before filling out the application, candidates should know the following. The evening session will start on February 2009 and end March 2010. The morning will start September 2009 and end October 2010.

I. Description of the program: It?s a program designed to provide standard of education to persons form diverse cultural and ethnic background to become practical nurses. Graduates from our program are competent to meet the requirements for licensure of the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Upon completion of the program, graduates will acquire the necessary theoretical materials to pass the N-CLEX exam and the clinical experience to meet the requirements of the entry-level competency.

II. Accreditation status of the program: BCTI?s LPN program is accredited by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.

III. The New Jersey Board of Nursing is located at 124 Halsey St. 6th Floor, Newark, NJ 07101, Tel: (973)504-6430. Information, concerns on the status of the school, complaints may be addressed to the Board.

IV. Admission Requirements to Best Care Training Institute LPN program: 1. Applicant must be 18 years old. 2. Applicant must submit a complete application with a Non-Refundable $50 (Money Order) application fee to take the LPN Entrance Exam given at the school, 2 passport size photos. 3. Applicant must submit the original of the High School Diploma, GED or the Equivalent Foreign document translated into English. 4. Applicant must submit proof of address, citizenship or resident status.

5. Applicant must have passed the LPN pre-entrance exam given at the school. The Passing grade is 60%. Students with a score bet 50% to 59% will be interviewed and may be accepted as ATB students under conditions to be discussed. 6. Applicant must submit his/her individual certificate of Liability Insurance. 7. Applicant must have gone through the finger print process that shoes no passed conviction or criminal involvement. 8. Applicant must submit medical records to show that the candidate is in good health condition. Candidate will submit: a-General physical form signed by a physician or a Nurse Practitioner, b-Two-Step Mantoux, and X-Ray if necessary, c-rubella titer or Rubeola, c-Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccine or a signed declination form indicating that student has refused Hepatitis B vaccine. Advance Standing: No admission will be done with advance standing in the program

V. Curriculum & Program Description Best Care Training Institute?s LPN program is offered in 1,488 hours. The Morning sessions Schedule comprises 46 weeks of training and the Evening sessions 50 weeks. Morning sessions Schedule: Mon thru Thu: 8:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. and Fri- 2:00 to 10 pm Evening sessions Schedule: Mon thru Thu: 5-10pm and Fri- 2:00-10 p.m

The curriculum is divided in four levels: Level I: Fundamentals of Nursing, A&P, and Drug & Solutions Level II: Med Surg I, Nutrition, and Growth & Development Level III: Maternity, Pediatrics, and Psychiatric Level IV: Med Surg II, Geriatrics, and Review

Promotion & Graduation: Once admitted in the program, student must maintain an average of at least 80% for each subject to be promoted to the next level of the program. At any point of the program when it becomes impossible for a student to reach the 80% toward the end of a subject, students will pass all simulated exams ( to be taken no more than twice, the second time at no cost of the student) with at least a 70% average. Students must score 80% in the NLN test, and in the range 79-90 or higher in the Arnett CAT test after Review, and complete additional work if required in no more than 7 days. Students must finally have returned all library books, paid all outstanding bills to school or affiliated to eligible for graduation. Readmission: Student dismissed or withdrawn at any point from the program may be able to restart the program with $1,500 credit and no academic credit.

IV. The total cost of the program is $11,860 to be paid as follow: $1,500 at the time of registration after acceptance for books, uniforms, lab fee (non-refundable). $3,500 for tuition on Day one of the program $2,600 for tuition on Week ten of the program $2,600 on week 20 of the program $1,600 on week 30 of the program Other fees for review sessions ($200), insurance, NCLEX registration. $200, Board of Nursing fees:$195, review books are not included. NB: Loan from Sallie Mae (credit based loan) is available for those who qualify. Refund Policy: Refunds are made only on amounts paid for tuition ($10,360). If cancellation, termination, or withdrawal from the program, any amount in excess of $2,600 paid on the program tuition will be refunded to the student. If cancellation, termination, or withdrawal occurs 48 hours after the beginning of week 10 of the program, any amount in excess of $5,200 paid on program tuition will be refunded to the student. If cancellation, termination or withdrawal occurs forty-eight hours after the beginning of week 20 of the program, any amount in excess of $7,800 paid on program tuition will be refunded to the student. If cancellation, termination, or withdrawal occurs forty-eight hours after the beginning of week 30 of the program, no refund is due to the student. Any refund will be done 60 days after cancellation, termination or withdrawal.
VII. Appeals Process
Step I: Present your case to the instructor or whomever the grievance is with. If no satisfaction within three days, proceed to Step II. Step II: Contact the program director IN WRITING, describing the complaint, date and time of the incident, and the expected resolution. Within three days of the submission, the program director will respond. If no satisfaction proceed to step III. Step III. Contact the School Director IN WRITING
